Engine Type

I have an 93 325i convertible, just need to know wat engine type it is (M20, M40, M50).
need to order myself a new starter motor but not sure with the engine type.

this might be a stupid question, buts whats the difference between m20 and m40 engine?
only askin as i am goin 2 buy a new starter motor and they asked me which engine i have.

Two cylinders.
M20 = 2.0, 2.3, 2.5L straight six.
M40 = 1.8L four cylinder wrongness.
