front valance removal for painting?

hi just wanted 2 know if anyone knows how to remove the front valance on my 1990 318i as i want 2 remove the stipple effec paint and respray it, is it easy or should i just do it while its still on the car!! do i have to take off the bumper, grille, etc? cannot add pics for some reason, car is as standard tho!!

Bumper off, grilles out, un-fasten side bumper mounts and front lower inner arch liners, remove hex screw from wing each side and then 4 x hex screws from front of valance (1 behind each brake duct, 1 underneath each headlight), un-clip loom from inside valance.

Oh, and two hex screws / two torx screws from the valance / wing join just under the headlight :)
