My LSD on my sport,i think is knackered,it whines at above 40mph,iv'e had it on a ramp, and the wheels dont spin the same way. There are no leaks or knocking noises from it, but fairly sure it's dead, can they be re-built? or is it cheaper just to get a good second hand one?

cheers

I wouldn't mind knowing a price on an LSD too.

Have you tried a fluid hange first?

Secondhand the LSDs sell for £250-£350
I've heard they can be rebuilt for £250ish but closest qoute I've had is £500 but that was slightly modified.
A new Quiffe diff is £600-700 depending on if you import or find a good UK supplier, Birds sell them for £700 ish IIRC.
A new BMW diff (which isn't new AFAIK it's refurbed) is about the same but call your local dealer to confirm.
