Cigarette Lighter! 325e

wont work, bit of a pain when i need power in the car!
ive checked the fuses and cleaned the contacts in the tube itself.
any common faults you guys know of?

I would recommend, making sure the wires underneath the unit are ok, check fuses (which you have but double check). Did it work before??

checked the wires under the unit, they r plugged in and fine, swapped fuses with a new 1 and still doesnt work.
hasnt worked since i had the car...

could be a bum unit, are there any scrap yard close to you? Perhaps you can pick one out of a car to test.

lol thats the problem mate, got no access to a multimeter or tester of any sort. Where do the wires lead to from the connection to the unit?

Put a bulb across the wires.If it lights up :P

right, no power at the wires, managed to get a multimeter from a neighbour. where do the wires lead to??

IF the wiring is the same as a facelift car, and IIRC (can't find the wiring diagram!), the wiring is part of the heater/aircon loom.
Connects to the main loom by a multipin plug and socket on the LH side of the heater, then through a single or two pin plug and socket above the glovebox (some variations on this one), goes through the rubber duct at the back of the glovebox, up into the fusebox, and connects to fuse 28.
