Any of the trackday guys using standard 325 fuel tanks ? do you get any problems with fuel starvation. Im just putting my trackday car together and the tank is out at the moment so I can do something about it, my last car was a pain as it needed to be over half full. If there is a problem has anyone got a solution.
Regards
Ray

Had no problems at all with my Tourer or my mate cabby at Brands - if anything fit a new fuel pump and carry the old one as spare.

The standard fuel tank (post face lift) already has a mini swirl pot where the base of the fuel pump sits - if on track, the time it takes you to enter + exit a corner it'll suffice with no problem - drifting on the other hand holds fuel away depending on the time your holding it 'on drift' - this could deplete the fuel in the swirl pot.

Yep, no problems with the standard tank even when running fast laps on empty  Fuel guage is last one to look at !

I'm having fuel starvation issues running the standard tank, I think a swirlpot setup is way forward.

Quite a few 320 racers in PBMW had starvation, seemed a bit hit and miss as some did some didn't with no particular pattern. There is a cheap fix using Golf gti parts, I don't have the detail as I never had starvation on the 318. If you post a question in the Motorsport forum JimmyC will let you know what is needed for the conversion.
