Correct tires is technical advice right?

I have been using Conti PremiumContact's 205/55/15
for the past 6 years and they are the best IMO.
But nobody has them in this size to hand and they're all trying
to sell me other stuff.

I need a set ASAP as my current one's are barely legal.
I have 4 to collect on Monday for £240 which is a very good
deal but it got me thinking - what's the best tire in that
size for an E30 / small RWD car used mainly in the UK?

The only other thing I'd consider is Pirelli P6000's but they
have not reviewed well. I had Goodyears once and they were rubbish.

What do zoners use/recommend for road/fast road?

(No hyper soft / track biased stuff please).

i dont rate pirellis either. i used to rate toyo's until i tried dunlop sp9000's. very good grip.

do they still make firestone firehawks? best in the dry not so good in the wet, i've hear that toyo proxy's are good

on the scooby the bridgestone potenzas were unbelievable they were on it when i first got it had good years on after had to go back to the bridgestones handling was destroyed by the good years

best i have used are bridgestone potenzas if not them then toyo proxes t1r or give the dunlop sp sport a try i wouldn't use p6000's out of choice.

Went with Pirelli P6000's in the end.

The guy I use has almost no 205/55/15's in stock by decent brands.

He said they're hardly made anymore and Michelin will list that size as a 'classic/collector' tyre from next year.
Continental and Pirelli also have lead times of 4-6 weeks if out of stock at their warehouse.

The price will also sky rocket as they won't make batches of them often.

Basically, it's becoming an obsolete size and we'll all have to change to 16" wheels if we want readily available hi-end tires.
Budget brands will still be fairly available.

The quick thrash home didn't reveal anything different but we'll see...

I use 205/50/15 as the choice is increased and the price is lower I have found.

Never liked P6000's on E30's. All they seem to work on is small French hatchbacks.

My old mans Volvo S40 has them on and it actually handles quite well. (for 17tonnes of Swedish shite)

Try searching for Tyres rather than Tires (US spelling) - you'll likely to bring up more UK places

As I said before, Pirelli's aren't tops but they're more than adequate for a pootling around town.

Pirelli P6000's are also known as ditch finders.
