E30 Zone

got me a set of 15" Mim alloy rim's tonight .. after close inspection 3 of them are et-25 and one is et-13
i know et-25 is more for a VW and that i'll need 10mm spacer's for them to fit the front

what i'm looking for help/info with is will i notice any difference in the car with handling or look's with 3 et-25 and 1 et-13 and should i fit the et-13 on the rear or front?
i'm guessing it would be better on the rear?
gonna try hunt down another alloy in either et-13 or et-25 .. no rush at the moment

i only paid £40 for the rim's which all seam to be in pretty good nick ..
2 have a wee bit of kerbing to the rim and 2 have a small flat spot on the outer rim, ive had them checked on a tyre balancer with a tyre fitted and they rolled fine, hardly any "balance weight" needed all 4 alloy's are actualy quite clean, if i had tyres for them just now then they would be the cabby tonight
hopefully i'll get them away next week for a refurb

Et25 is fine for e30(et35 is vw) as far as I know you can't do anything to make your et13 rim fit closer to the arch so it would maybe be best to find another et25 rim? Going for 12 mm spacers on 3 wheels isn't really rational I'd say.

et-25 need 10mm spacers to fit the front, et-13 is a direct fit .. i know this as ive tried the et-25 on my E30 and it hit's the caliper

The correct offset for a wheel for an E30 is not simply ET25 - it depends on how wide are the rims.

BMW BBS 6.5j x 14h2 et30
BMW BBS 7j x 15h2 et24
Hartge 7.5j x 16h2 et25

VW steelies 6jx14h2 et38

....... so how wide are the Mims?

the 4 mims i have got hold of are all 7.5j (3 x et-25 & 1 x et-13)

Have you tried one with a 10mm spacer ?
I am sure mine had to have 15mm on the front.

StuBeeDoo had one for sale dont know if he still has it (et13)

I would put the et13's on the front and the et25's on the rear with a good 10mm spacer.

i tried a et-25 on the front with 2 x 6mm spacers behind it and it had load's of clerance, ive also got new disc's and pad's fitted so the calipers are pushed out to there max .. i think i'll try hunt down a et-25 wheel as the et-13 i have is the worst condition wheel out the 4!

Prolly a bit wide then, I have 6j et25's on atm and they're fine.

mine are 7.5" wide, they sit "spot on" with the wheel arch


also, have any of you had to longer wheel bolt's when you fitted the spacer's?

Have had to use longer wheel bolts in the past, but wasn't impressed by the one's that came with the spacers
3 sheared with me over an 18month period

I then opted for conversion studs and a set of wheel nuts

Make fitting the wheel a lot easier as well

cheer's Dave, i was gonna go to my local scrappy this weekend and try match up the thread pattern with some thing that has longer bolt's??

Threads are M12 x 1.5mm if that helps

IIRC Rally Design stock longer wheel bolts
Could try there if your local scrappy can't help

Thank's Dave i'll keep a note of that, if i can't get lucky in the scrappy then i'll order new one's from a motor factor
