Hi folks,

My 325 seems to be running a bit rich these days and I've noticed that a lot of the hoses are looking a bit past it. So I think a new induction kit is in order. Anyone know how much these are from BMW?

Hoses are cheap enough from people such as Motormec, Euro Car parts, German & Swedish etc.
If running rich is a problem - try turning the inset screw on the air intake housing (aluminium section of the MAF) - this also reduces your CO at idle -and most MOT garages will hook up their CO reader to help you adjust this. (325i needs to read around 135 ppm).
There are many views for & against cold air induction kits so the best thing is to figure out how to feed more air into the standard air box, fitted with a decent panel filter - if this is what you have?

Unless you're going to run a heatsheild of sorts, I'd avoid aftermarket open style induction kits. The BMC is a closed unit and they are available cheap through Sal (M5PILOT).

Other than that a test has proved the std air filter and units are the best design for allround performance for the stock motor.

There isn't enough room in the bay of an M20 for the BMC to fit without the help of an angle grinder

First thing I'd check on a 325 running rich, is that the blue temp sensor on the thermostat housing is behaving itself.

I've just had my tappets adjusted and they also adjusted the CO2 at idle for me

So I've ordered a new induction kit from BMW (Ԛ£130ish) and that will go on next week
