Does anyone know how many pulses per mile the e30 speed sensor is?

At source, it's 9 pulses per wheel rev. Exact pulses per mile is dependent on wheel size, tyre pressure, tyre tread etc.
But, at the sink, the small print on the speedo says how many it expects to see per mile ('K=xxxx'):

Hmm sorry about the links not working, what happens if you copy & paste the link into a new tab / window?
Anyway, From speed sensor the brown wire goes to ground, and the brown/red goes to the speed input (Via white connector on back of cluster, pin B12)

oze30, you might be logged onto
http://e30zone.net but the link is to
http://www.e30zone.net. It's always an issue with cross linking...

From memory the speedo sender just shorts the two wires together. The speedo itself floats a small voltage on one wire, which is pulled to ground by the sender causing a current pulse that gets detected and processed.
