is there universal code among key cutters for the Blank keys for certain cars. and if there is, is there a code for E30s?

Well... apparently Key cutters dont drive E30s

Don't know about blanks, but a good key cutting shop should be able to cut you a key if you give them the key code, which should be written on the owners handbook. Think it's part of the VIN.

cheers. but i have a pair of keys with remotes on them from ebay. just wanna see if i can get the profile cut onto them....

Take them to a proper locksmiths, not a shoe repair/trophy shop, with your usual key and they will sort them in about 5 mins.

Your local BMW dealer's parts department should know of a local locksmith who can do BMW keys.

your local bmw dealer will also cut the keys but you will need i.d and the logbook

i was a locksmith for 5 years and key cutting is really easy if they know what they are doing,

definately go to a locksmiths but not one of these all in one van types as they are normally just franchises.

but dont expect it to be cheap because when we cut on other peoples blanks we charged more incase a mistake was made.
