Can this be fixed by a good clean or would the sensor have to be replaced?
Just wandering as the warning lights for my break lights and rear lights like to randomly come on whist driving, but when i take the key out and put it back in, its fine.
Any ideas as this is annoying the hell out of me at the moment???

I very much doubt if there is anything wrong with either of your lamp failure modules. They're almost certainly doing their job.
If the relevant lamp drops out for a fraction of a second or flickers, the warning LED will come on, and stay on, until it is reset by switching the ignition off and on.
Check the bulbs in the cluster are all clean and making contact properly, and, if you have the bulb units which use round wire contacts, check that the wires haven't worn all the way into the solder bases of the lamps.

Had a similar problem with the windscreen wiper fluid, the light came on sometimes without a reason. The plug under the hood was loose. Maybe it's as simple as that.

Problems with the washer level warning coming on are almost always caused by the sensor having been rotated in the bottle, so that the float no longer moves vertically.
