E30 Zone

hi ive got a prob with my m3 when it rains or i wash the car the driver & passg footwell become wet have checked the drin piont on the passenger side below the scutle panel but ant find one on he driver side wher the leak seems worse. any help appriciated.

/Heater matrix/valve or sunroof drains is what id be checking!

There's only one scuttle drain point under the bonnet, on the passenger side.
There's a big rubber grommet on the driver's side, where the wiring comes in from the fusebox. This grommet may be dislodged, or, there could be rust spreading from this hole - rust that can extend well into the wheel arch, and is very difficult to repair without removing the engine and wiring looms/fusebox.
Could be rust in the bottom of the scuttle area, the false jacking points, or other places.
The best way to find out is to remove the carpet, sprinkle talcum powder around, and spray water from a hose over it from all angles.
