exhaust mounting - somewhat urgent help?

Asked about this before but am having a pain sorting this.
Car has it's MOT Tuesday after a little time off the road. Last year I bought this exhaust system from GSF:
B25036 SILENCER-REAR E30 318i M40 87>
which has a metal 'hook' welded to the side rather than the usual 'L' shaped bracket which usually hooks into the rubber mounting attached to the car. The shape of this hook means it does not fit into the mounting.
This was my original posting on the matter if you need pics:

Original advice from you guys to avoid an MOT failure suggested removing the mounting from the car - I cannot do this as the bolt is more or less worn and stripped.
Has anyone ever bought one of those GSF exhausts and had similar issues? Their listing mention mounting kits and the like and I would not have thought they would have made something which is an MOT failure, though I may be wrong! I need the car for Christmas thus an MOT failure would not be good and I doubt the garage would remove the mounting for me prior to the test.
Help/advice would be appreciated.

p.s. - managed to move the PAS pump thanks to your advice cheers.
