18is peterol leak

Has anyone with a 318is had any petrol leaks in around fuel pipes under air in- manifold, spotted leak drippin onto starter,, so losened a clamp holding two metal pipes to have a look and leak then stopped? 8O

Not to familiar with the I.S. motor

I know on the M40 and 6 pot engines the fuel pipes that go to the fuel rail and pressure reg can become cracked/brittle with age and start leaking

May be worth having a look there 1st

Its a classic M42 leak. Those metal pipes join to short bits of hose. Remove throttle body and inlet manifold. You will then be able to see the fuel rail. On the right two short bits of hose connect to it, these will eventually go and can be easily replaced.

I have a 318is and had exactly the same problem. I took the inlet manifold off and replaced all the rubber fuel hose with new stuff. No leaks now, and better fuel economy! Though i miss the smell.
