If any one could let me know, i just recently had my Air filter changed on my e30 320i and since then the car keeps jerking back n forth or it would just cut out whilst driving or station?? can this be because the car needs tuning up because there is a new Air Filter Put in? if any one can let me know...thanks...

Hi, it will more then likely be from a rubber hose thats been disturbed when it was changed or cracked from being bent. check all the clips are tight and that the hoses are all pushed on properly. :D

hope that helps

also check the hose from air flow meter to the inlet, this is the most likely place where if disturbed you get an air leak, this allows un-metered air into the engine and it will run rough

Plus the ECU needs to adjust to a different AFM, the setting on it might be slighty different to it's original - it shouldn't take long.

But if you've got an AFM from a 2.5 on there it'll buck all over the place all the time.

As mrLEE has already said, it's almost certainly a split in the big air hose between the AFM and throttle body. It has to be bent through 90 degrees to change the filter, and, if perished, will split.

I put it down to being a Saturday night, and a few members becoming a little lubricated (although a bit early yet).

A lot of people have no idea what they're talking about! No such adjustment! Ignore.

First of all, what new AFM? OP says you changed the air filter!
Secondly, there are no adjustments to adjust on the ECU.
There is an adjustment on the AFM, but this only has one correct position, and only has a significant effect at idle.
