fitting short shift (finished)

morning people i am hoping to get time to fit my short shift today so i have just read through the tech article.it says in the guide that i need to put a bend in the selector rod but i'm sure i have read this isn't nessecary with the 1.9z3 kit can anyone confirm this please.

I didn't need to do it on mine. AFAIK, it's only applicable to 325i (& M3??).

ah just read that again do u mean it needs the bend on a 325/m3

No!
If it is a 325i, it does need the bend - as far as I'm aware. Mine's a 320i.

..... That's right! Like I said though, only as far as I'm aware, I've never done a 325i.
If I'm wrong, someone will correct me I'm sure.

Have a look under the car and see if there is a vibration damper on the prop ... if there is you will need to bend it.
IIRC not all 325's have this damper ..

just finished mine had the damper so yes i had to bend the rod but all done now and what a change (get it) just taken the "scenic" route back from my mates workshop and i'm suprised at how changing one small part can make the car feel so different.thanks again for the advice guys i'm off for another play......
