REPLACEMENT EXHAUST

I need to replace the front section of the exhaust , 1988 325 Touring.
It has a two piece system with the front piece going from manifold and including the front box.
Most suppliers and exhaust centres cant find this part in their bosal or timax catalogues.
Ive been quoted £170 for bmw part and dont want to pay that much.
GSF reckon they can supply a Walker exhaust for around £40 but not sure if this will fit?
Anyone know of a tidy exhaust centre near Cardiff that could supply/fit this part.

Personally, I'd be going for the genuine, easily last 10+ years, and well worth the money.

The front half of the 2-piece system has only been covered by a couple of the aftermarket exhaust companies AFAIK and they are like rocking horse poo.
£170ish is the right kind of money for a genuine one. Quality doesn't come cheap - it wouldn't be surprising if the one on your Touring is the original one!
The £40 Walker one from GSF won't be right.
Your options are.....
1) Pay the £170. Chances are the part will last another 15 years.
2) Keep looking for a "pattern part" one. When you find the right one, it probably won't be very good quality, and may not even fit very well.
Sorry to be a prophet of doom, but that's the way it is.

Depends on how long you are going to keep the car.
Buy the genuine one from me at a good discounted price.
Or buy a aftermarket version for say £50-60 spend loads of time trying to get it to fit
and do the same again 18 months later.
Or go for a Stainless steel system from Longlife Exhausts in Cardiff for say £200 ish +
and have it made to fit..

i can sell you a whole bosal 3 piece system for £250 if you or anyone else is interested.i belive genuine bmw ones are bosal

Nope, genuine systems are made by Boysen.

Once I've ever experienced a bosal system on a 325i, it was a kwik fit special, i.e. poor fit, and was past it's sell by date within 2 years.
The only other company to make for BMW during the E30 era was eberspracher.

ahh right, thanks for correcting me simon. that will mean that a bosal is NOT going on my car.are boysen tail pipes straight and not bent out to one side?
