I'm driving a 323i and i notice is that my 323 isn't producing the power it claim to have. I've sent my car to a mechanic for checking and after he test drive my car, he too agree that it's a little underpower.

He then suggest that it might be the problem with the clutch and recommended to replaced it.

I think it could be the vacuum hoses which some had brittled and something to do with the tuning (i suppose it's related).

Could there be any other problem which you guys are aware of?

cheers

Does it idle ok? If there's a vacuum leak it will idle like a dog.

May be worth checking the timing as well as you have to set it manually on those things. I had one myself.....they're not especialy quick anyway. Though it should feel fairly brisk above 4000rpm.
