Hi any advice please on this damn locking ring , its the big nut on output shaft and the ring is a naff hexaganel over fitment that needs to be bent into three recesses....which I did and it promptly fell out loose as grannies draws!
Looks like by bending it it reduces circumferance hence becomes loose but if you dont bend it then hows it lock?

Cheers

All you need to do is press it in and the metal will bend into the recesses on its own and lock the nut.

Just pused in it doesnt bend into recesses much at all, but I think your right, a bit of a leap of faith is required that it will hold.

Thanks.

yes, but took it out again and reshaped it back to round its now in tight but not in to recesses. I think with hind sight recesses are just to lever out the lock ring not to bend ring into.

Live and learn!
