Front Strut Brace on Auto

I've seen some photos of a double-tube alloy strut brace that sits mainly along the top of the engine bay, curving down to fit to the two turrets. The trouble is, on an auto this looks worryingly close to where the auto transmission dipstick is. Does anybody know if this brace would restrict access to this? I'd rather not have to go for the single tube steel option that appears to go more directly across the bay, although doesn't look anywhere near as tasty IMO! Could the dipstick tube be bent to a more accessible angle?
Thanks
