2 - collected exhaust
3 - returned exhaust because it was for 318i, picked up 318iS exhaust
4 - returned centre section because it was for catalytic models, meanwhile bought correct part from BMW

3 months later back box failed at join to centre section

5-returned back box
6-arrived to pick up replacement, but it was for the 318i
7-arrived to pick up replacement for 318iS, but it was wrong part
8-arrived to pick up replacement after phoning to check, but it was the wrong part

I've just had a look at their website and

Now, the drawing on their computer system shows the correct part, but the actual part looks different (no box silencer at the start).

TBH, I'm so bored of it now that I'm going to go and buy the backbox from BMW. ECP also told me that they could find no record of the backbox I returned. I've just looked through my receipts and it looks like they credited me for the complete system when I returned the centre section, so maybe it was a free back box. Either way, utter confusion.

pm me your details will give good price for genuine back box delivered as well (jut hope its not longer than 2.25 metres)

I've just had a look at my online banking.

Originally charged £267.03 for a load of parts inc the exhaust.
Refunded £134.68 for the returned exhaust.

Then charged £324.47 and refunded £186.31 a day or so later. So that's £138.16. For a backbox, though there might have been some other parts. I was desparate at the time (MOT) and then binned some receipts, big mistake!

IS have three box's, mine originally came with the rear box and center box all in one pipe! Nightmare.. My centre box went, so I just cut it and used a genuine bmw joiner thing to join a 3 part system to my 2 part one.

Aha, I've ecountered the 3 part problem too. BMW explained it to me. It appears that they changed over to a combined 1&2 section at some point. Either way, I now have the correct BMW 1&2 sections. The backbox I had fitted fine too. If only Euro car parts could replicate it I'd be happy.

I've done 2 weeks without a backbox now.

Bosal supply an exhaust for the 318is which contains the middle and back box. Not going to be as good quality as an original system, but it should be more straightforward to get your hands on one.

they sound f ing loud like that, mine is minus the middle and rear box as im doing the prop bearing. had to "demonstrate" how loud it was to the missus the other day....

I go to BMW for this exact reason plus it was cheaper from BMW for the part anyway

Well, I'm going to try and get some sense from them on the phone today. It looks like the back box cost me £138. I've got to get a refund of some sort, or the same part again.

Eurocar parts done this with me for the same car even though i gave them the chassis number.
Ordered a 318is exhaust and got one for a 318i.
Same with the brake discs bought ones for a 325 returned them under warrenty and they refunded me for 316/8 discs!!!

They did when I went there 3 months ago. They also show the exhaust on their website. See my first post. The backbox fitted fine.

However, I would just like my money back now.

I've phoned them twice today, no real progress apart from them phoning London to see which part they really need.

we did it years ago but no longer do ! so god knows what u have been supplied with!? i have an is myself and i know we dont do it!

It needs to be removed from the website then!

I've just phoned them an explained that I can cope with the failure and the lack of replacement, but please just either provide a part or refund me. I really need to be getting on with this.

Anyway, the chap was quite helpful and understanding so hopefully something will happen.
