BIG PROBLEMS WITH TRACKING AND PROP SHAFT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Hi Guys,

hope you guys can help me, I just got my front wheel tracking done, I saw them every step of the way, they didn't even take the tires of they just adjusted the steering rack and all that other stuff well it was all fine until I reversed the car out the garage and drove it up the road and took a left hand turn.....

rite here comes the problem well as soon as I turned left I herd this loud pop(say that really fast) sound so I quickly pulled up to one side at first I thought it was my exhaust that was making the sound by scraping the floor

but then I looked underneath and it was normal and I turned back drove back as I accelerated the noise was accordingly to the acceleration if you get what I mean

they jacked up from the back and spun the back rear left wheel and it was slightly making that same noise so then what they guy done was put it on the jack took it up checked the underneath and said it was

my prop - Shaft and I was like “huh it wasn't like this before I come hereâ€a and he replied “I really do apologies but its something got to do the prop shaftâ€a, he mentioned rubber doughnuts need to be replaced I was thinking to myself hmmm I mean, I would have you know took his head of but I got it all done for free as a friend of a friend did the job he also mentioned that it could have just been an coincidence but in my head I though hmm how likely is that?

Now I am in a misery to be honest because I don't even feel to drive the poor little thing because it makes a very loud noise which is worrying?

I even don't feel to drive her to the garage that's how much of a bad noise she's making...

any help and advice would be very much Appreciated

many thanks guys / girls

Cheers Jazz

Too much text and not enough information in the original post. Also conflicting statements.

First it's a "pop", then it's a "scrape"?
Then the rear wheel is making the noise, but they said it's the prop. Same noise from 2 places?

You need to be a bit more precise/clear with your description before anyone can start to help.

how more easy can it get to understand lol hmmmm :? ok cool as i drove the car after getting the tracking done i thought the car exhaust was scraping but that clearly was not the case, so i drove back and it almost felt like the prop shaft was circulating in an oval shape but still im not to sure i mean im trying to explain as best i can, as i was insreacing my speed from 10mph to 20-25mph it was making that worrying sound accordlingly so as i was speeding up the worrying sound was speeding up.

the guy who checked it again said its the prop shaft rubber doughnuts that may need to be replaced, now if thats true or not i yet dont knwo but the car is not in a good state rite now as i aint driven her since :(

if anyone still dont understand me please pm me and e take it from there as i want this problem to get resloved

many thaks guys

Jazz

Oh well, I tried!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your prop was out of line/bent/f**ked/doughnuts gone or whatever you would get a BANGING noise not a scraping noise.

WHICH noise have you got? And WHERE! Rear of car? OS or NS? Around the wheel area?

Take it to another garage, let them drive it, and get their opinion.

you diddnt take it to charlie browns did you? do you have a garage that you trust and use all time? or find a specialist with old beemers? take it to someone you trust for the right diagnosis! or are you nomadic with you garage choices? :)

if the prop centre bearings f****d then its an easy job to replace and not something the garage would have damaged whilst doing your tracking. it is a co-incidence.and back to your original post, tyres do not come of to re allign the tracking. saying you would have took his head of just makes you look silly. either do it or dont say it.

when i bought my car i thought it was just the prop centre bearing but the whole thing had to be changed, when pulling off the seats used to shake as it felt like something was hitting the centre of the car causing the front seats to judder but after 1st and 2nd gear it was fine
