Remove the spedo cluster and tighten up the 8mm nuts on the back of it - might solve it and wont cost you a penny.
Neil.
P.S. finally beat BrianMoore to a post **big belly laugh**

Well I'm getting a post in anyway!
Tight nuts sorted your temp gauge out, koos. Loose nuts were the problem!

Two knurled round nuts up behind the bottom of the cluster holding on the trim piece directly below the cluster.
Two tiny silver self tappers and four black self tappers. Remove the front surround. Two more black self tappers.
Pull cluster out, laying it its front as it comes. Flip up the black locking straps on the white and blue (and yellow, if fitted) connectors. Unplug connectors, plus any lamps on flying leads, such as ABS warning, and wriggle the cluster to the left out from behind the steering wheel.
