I attempted to check/adjust the valves on my 323i auto yesterday. However i got to the same point as I did a couple of years ago which is, turning the cam shaft! I can't!
The car is in neutral all the spark plugs are out and i simply can't turn it on either of the two possible attachments.
Has anyone had experience of this on their auto?

Try kicking her over on the starter, only quick bursts though. She won't fire up if you've got all the plug leads off.
Cheers,

Nice long extended end on the bolt, thoughtfully provided by BMW for this purpose.
Try to remember to remove it when you have finished though!

I tried 8 ADAPTER 1 09/1985 11311276855 that got gnarl first time.
I tried this time 06 HEX BOLT M18X1,5X65 1 11231709037, which is the one i think you're telling to get a long extension on? the rad was some what in the way as it is with out any extensions.
I have basically given the job up on the basis of if it ain't broke.
cheers for the tips.
