Removing drivers side wishbone

Does anyone have any hints or tips as to how to undo the nut on the main stud of the control arm balljoint that fixes to the subframe on the drivers side? Everything is off bar that nut and the exhaust manifold seems to be in the way to get a socket down giving enough turning clearance (m40 by the way)

I'm completely out of ides short of removing the engine!

I think I used two long 1/2inch extension bars with a universal joint.

So did I.
22mm socket/UJ/extension/extension/breaker bar.

if that doesnt work, use a nut splitter.

I actually found it easier to jack the engine up a bit and take the engine mount out.
