electric window switches only working with doors open???????

basically when i have the dooors closed and ignition lights on the windows will not work but as soon as i open the doors it will, cus its on a different circuit i think, but i can figure out why the winows stoppd working with the doors closed
any 1 have any ideas????

iv got the same problem, but occasionally mine will work with the doors closed. they seem to have a mind of there own!! any help would be appreciated to.

check fuses windows and sunroof work of interior light circuit when doors are open and ignition is off
when the doors are closed they switch from the fuse can't remember which one

alrite mate its a 30 amp fuse its either no 15 or 17 i think? , mine has blown a couple of times put a new fuse in and it sorted it

don't know if this can help: had the same problem with my sunroof; it was a blown fuse 17 and missing relay K5.

cheers guys it was fuse 17 for some reason was missing. thanks a lot for ur help that was one anoying thing to put up with.

I posted a very similar thread last week. It drove me bananas, going down the M1 with the sunroof and both windows open... it was bloody freezing!
Yep it was fuse 17. It had blown a little so sometimes when i went over a bump the windows/sunroof would work again for a short while.

My fuse 17 blows reguarly, sometimes not for 2-3 months then almost daily. Will get to bottom of it someday but for now ive got a boot full of spare 3oamp fuses.

Mine was caused by a dodgy window switch,replaced it and it hasn't blown since

Metal foil/paperclip/pin slipped down inside of it. Easily dismantled and removed.
