Both side's have it!
Can it be fixed invisibly as my guy at my local bodyshop thinks not?

weld in a new skuttle and spray to the same colour as the car and I can't see how it wouldn't be 'invisible'??
Unless your body shop guy wants to fill the holes with lumpy unpainted filler!

It's a windscreen & dash out job

& expensive, but mine was bad on both sides & got away with welding in new pieces/filling /painting

A job only to be undertaken during a full body resto , or if you intend to keep the car for a decent period of time
Otherwise offload the problem

Had the scuttle welded up on mine, the screen had to come out, he welded up a rust hole next to the the n/s wiper spindle and one in the n/s/ corner by the front wing, all in cost me £150.
Here`s a pic of the repaired are around the wiper spindle, perhaps not the greatest of pics but can you see any evidence of a repair????

New panel only way to get rid of it.
My dad was lucky and was only a bit of surface rust.

Will try and post a picture of my tin worm
Its pretty bad so i'm thinking new scuttle but will get some quotes first
I'm thinking of doing a job lot :-
Both front wings and rear arches and scuttle. Also depending on how much that lot costs i might do a part re-spray

Was about £20 cheaper than that when I bought mine, the VIN stamp quality is very very poor though.

hey scot,
im in sheffield and run a bodyshop specialising in "invisible" repairs
anyone saying you cant do it without it being visable just isnt doing it right
send me some photo`s for an honest opinion and if you want to see some of my work click the link in my sig to see my resto thread

Hey beardymat thanks for the offer
Will take some pic's this weekend
Hopefully its salvagble as the dash out option sounds expensive!

i wouldnt worry too much about the dash coming out as i can get them out in very reasonable time, nothing like the full 8 hour day some people will have you believe whilst sucking air through their teeth.
ill await the photo`s of the carnage
