What engine oil??

My E30 320 need a slight top up of oil but i'm not sure whats in it. What grade oil should i be using?

According to my Owners Handbook it's 15/40 semi-synth.

Another vote for 10w40 semi - I use castrol magnatech? Never had any problems

"castrol high mileage" as recomended by ashton bmw
