Is there any specific engine coolant i should buy for my 325i sport? I am waiting on diff and engine oil, once i arrives its going in for a service.

you can buy BMW coolant. Don't know if its any diferent to any of the others though.

you've had one of these threads every day for a while now, sure you don't want to know how much coolant to use too?

Have ou checked Haynes?

just realised this should be in technical help, feel free to move mods....

I posted a thread to see if anyone had the electronic version of the haynes manual, got no reply.....

So yeh, how much coolant do i need :D LOL

Is this A silly question but what is the difference between tap water and coolant as I use tap water in my motors!

water is water. coolant has rust inhibitors and addatives to allow it to remain cooler for longer.

Aparantly you can buy engine coolant from bmw, how much do you need though?

Total coolant capacity is 10.5 litres :D according to my Bently manual.

Water also has salt in it.

Would boil with kettle before putting it in.

max mix would be 50/50 but anything to about 70/30 will be ok.

just take your time to flush everything out !

salt !
sea water has salt in it not tap water !
normal water mixed 50/50 with coolant is the way to go.It stops things rusting and raises the boiling temp of the mixture and is a summer coolant aswel as a winter anti freezing agent.
