F*$KIN SAXO DRIVERS!!!

I was driving down the road this morning (9.15am) when i nob in a Saxo vts came flying towards me, overtaking a bus in a 30mph zone (busy main road) doing about 50mph i guess, there was nowhere near enough room for the Saxo to get through which caused me to have to swerve out of the way pretty drastically, hitting a bulit up cerb pretty hard! Now my the rim of my front wheel is bent and i have an egg in the trye, which is brand new! I am f*$kin fuming and if i see the lad in that car again around my area, god help me i will be tempted to drag him out of his car and kick the living sh!t out of him! People who drive like nutters on any road other than a track are driving me mad at the moment, there bloody everywhere, is the sun melting what little brains they have or something!
So does any body know what sort of money i will be looking at to get my wheel fixed and also is my tyre totally buggered? The damage to the wheel is not to bad but bad enough to notice if you know what i mean?

Don't suppose you got his number? If so report him - chances are he's been reported before, and , around here at least, the police will visit and 'have a word'!
Also, present him with the bill!
Tyre is definitely scrap. Don't know about the wheel without seeing it.
Decent tyre fitter/supplier will be able to advise.

My blood is boiling.
On the one hand you should totally ram him off the road but then you don't want to risk yourself either.
I'm sure you'll see them again.

Maybe it's pay day and saxo man was in a hurry to get his benefits. If you feel inclined, wait for him same time, same place next week.... people are usually predictable. On the other hand, maybe life is too short, and rest in the knowledge he will probably wrap his go-cart around a tree soon enough.

You would have survived... he may not have. you would have been able to claim in insurance instead of paying out yourself.
You swerved into the kerb in a 30mph zone to avoid him and save your car. Not only did you fail but you put pedestrians at risk by swerving at the pavement.
Unless its a kid, or a woman with a buggy, never swerve to avoid anything unless its your fault that its in the way.
So many times I've heard 'I swerved to avoid (insert object here) and ended up writing my car off, now I cant claim etc etc...

It's all very well discussing the merits of swerving or not swerving, but in the moment your life is in danger, few people would make any sort of conscious decision.

Swerving or not - the biggest thing to remember is brakes. Stand on the brakes and then decide where to point it. This is why ABS is such a good thing on a road car (IMO). Every mph lost reduces the energy of the impact. It may not be very heroic, but you can't count on driving round every danger like they do in the movies.

if there was anybody on the pavement of course i would not of of swerved towards it. in an ideal world everybody would drive with a bit of sense alis the roads are full of lune's who dont give a shit for anybody else, and i dont want to end up in hospital or worse because i did nothing to try and avoid being hit by one of them.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be a c*nt and its sh*t that this happened.
But, if you had time to check the pavement for pedestrians and decide it was safe to swerve towards it, you made a conscious decision. I reason that (as most people would) you saw the car and blindly swerved out of its way. This IMHO creates more of a dangerous situation than the impact would have.
Anyway, horses for courses.....on topic, go to any tyre place and they will be able to tell you if the wheel is too far gone to repair.

Munky I hope a 40 ton lorry never comes onto your side of the road
Munky's thoughts in his head:
"that darn thing shouldn't be on my side, f**k him, i'm staying here motherf**ker"
Or something like that.
The subconscious thought in my head anyway is self preservation

Obviously I have a conscious side too and wouldn't swerve into a pram

Hell I think I wouldn't have time to notice if it was a pram or not! And In that situation if the dumb tw*t is on your side of the road presumabl the safest place to be and coincidentaly the largest targe and easiest place to swerve to would be the other side of the road!

Exactly.
Maxfield those are awsome lol, only a 5'er! When some mates

were looking for bats they were all about 20 quid, so they ended up supplied with second hand metal old skl ones!
Find the driver (if at all possible) and batter them.

slamming on the brakes in an e30 head on, unless you move you're foot at the last moment might put an end to your ankle, foot or even knee or hip with an estimated 80mph impact. twats like these are a menace. i had a couple of similars in mine with my little boy in the car. SOBERING THOUGHTS!!!!!!!!

Ok, so its a judgement call. I dont know about other people but IF there is time to make a decision, I would swerve for kids, women with buggy's and big f*ck off lorries... not c*nts in saxo's.

I mean young kids. Given the choice I would happily mow down every c*ntish teenager I see. I know they're not all feral chav scum, but the only way to be sure would be to take them all down.
And yes, I would happily take out a few zoners too. Only if they were on foot though, so I could have their cars

best protection in a car is a nightstick aka maglite - it serves as a great torch and also as a disguised bat.
get the biggest one they do (about 18 inches long) - the one with 6 big batteries in and keep it near you at all times.
anyway - back to topic.... unfortunately you cannot bargain for all the idiots you will meet at some point so i think you need to sort the new tyre, assess whether you need the wheel now or it can wait and then keep an eye out for the toe-rag - but don't go looking for him.

if it was 9.15 on a tuesday the chances are he was late for work. personally i would tell my boss i had *insert excuse here* and would be in late the next morning. get to the same road (but park up on opposite side for quick getaway) at about half 8 and wait! he'll come past without even thinking and you can follow him all the way to his work and kick seven shades of sh*t out of him infront of the receptionist he fancies! or just bill him for the repair if your feeling hospitable! keep us all posted!

Pansy,I don't,even in my R5,made a lorry driver shit his pants a couple of months ago, bastard looked at me coming around a round about and must have thought fuck him,i'm pulling out anyway, lets just say his brakes and seatbelt were put to go use
Taught him a lesson though,PRIORITY TO THE RIGHT,ALWAYS!!!! No matter what is coming around the rounabout.
At the end of the day,he's in something big and wants to be a bully, but he doesn't want to kill someone doing so.
