difference between m10 and m40

whats the difference between an m40 and m10 1.8? what years were each of them used?

318i M10 4 cylinder 105 HP 178 km/h 1982 - 1987
318i M40 4 cylinder 113 HP 188 km/h 1987 - 1991

as i can recall, the m10 is all in all a better engine.and it was in use for a longer time than the m40.

oh yes so my 4 door munter is 113 bhp of goodness!

and you can feel the power! :twisted:


not really but its ok for now and the skinney tires makes it all more funny!

need my cam fixing though. :(
