E30 Zone

hi, my diff has been leaking quite badly recently and i was told that it would be better to change the hole diff insted if replacing the seals which is where it is leaking from, does anybody know if it would be better to use a diff from another car for example an 318i or 320i or somthing insted of an 316i diff ??

you could use a diff from a 320/325 but check out the ratios first.

316i should have a 4.10 diff, if you go for lower like 3.xx you will loose acceleration but car will sit at lower rpm at speed.

ye i thought so, how about a 318is diff ? do you no the ratio for that ?

iS is 4.10, same as 316i and 318i (except tourings that are 4.27 afaik)

so if i put a diff from a touring 316i or a 318i ill have betta acceleration ?
