Hi guys,

looking to buy 318iS. should I touch 1 that has been superchipped? it's says it's pushing 160 bhp which sounds good actually but do 318iS's suffer from any problems after being superchipped?

Does a superchip, fit directly onto the main ECU board, or is the whole ECU board replaced with an aftermarket module?

Cheers guys

its probably one of those gay chips people buy that just up the fuelling so the car seems faster, when actually all they do, is perish your engine...

dont go near it. it wont be pushing 160bhp unless its had a few basic engine mods and a live rolling road remap, which even then is asking something...

take it thats at the flywheel figure??? ya the chip just plugs/soldered in to the board and can be removed. think there is atech artical if you want to have aproper look how it goes in?

don't see any problem with the car being chipped though :D .

problem with chips matt, is that they're generic. every engine engine is different, including one "exactly" like yours...

the 318iS is a great example, having 3 different ECU's across the production range
