318is suspension overhaul

Hi guys and girls.....
Just planning on replacing the suspension on my 318is. I've done 250000miles now and it's getting a little tired !
Just wondering what replacments you might recommened. I'd like to go a little lower than standard. But not i don't think 60/40 would be ok as the roads around me are terriable!
Just therefore wondering what shocks and springs people are using or would recomened.
Also is it worth going through and replacing bushes with powerflex etc.

Thanks for any hints tips etc on this.......

Matt.

hi big M

I wanted something similar for mine so decided on a 35mm drop all round. Went with Bilstien shocks and H&R springs, gives quite a stiff ride but makes the car really fun. Not the cheapest of options but I am very happy, also fitted the powerflex bushes, cant say how much difference alone they make as I had it all done at the same time but no problems so far!

More options a are available depending on what sort of ride you want and what your budget is.

Eibach 40/35 springs give a smooth yet firm ride.

You can use standard shocks with these, I did until I got Koni adjustables.

Both the Eibach and H&R springs work very well on the 4 Cyl Cars. Bilstein shocks go well with both of these.
