broke m3 windscreens ????????

hey all hope ye all had a good xmas and are not to sick. well in a bit of a tisey here broke windscreen on the m3 when it was out for spraying cage and thaught we were ok as i had one from a 4door 318. but how wrong i was its to small. so anyone know what will fit? or what part no. it is? ok the no.s on the broke window are
e2 (in a circle) 43R-001126 & under that is dot27 m75 as1 it was a bonded screen.
the screen from the 318 has no.s
e6(in circle)43R-00132 &under that is dot24-as1 m45
so what no. do i need to order new one or get in a scrap yard if im lucky please help????????????????????????????????????????

You can only use the M3 screen.

New screen only, as the M3 screen is bonded.

a stone chip in mine turned into a huge crack thanks to the frost. it's stopped spreading for the moment, but it wont be long before i have to try and find a replacement

i didnt know the m3 screen was different, Hi Kam what do u mean the screen is bonded?

It's bonded to the car with a sort of mastic type compound. Just had to get one done on another car last Friday - first quote £807 + VAT......

Last one i had done came in at less than £150 inc vat !

It's bonded to the car with a sort of mastic type compound
never really noticed the difference in pictures, oh well learn something new everyday.

if its insured or if you get it insured then you can get the screen replaced that way... though would have to wait till its all back together or they will think you are taking the mick!

The Windscreen is bonded to the car body with a Urathane adhesive, this is one reason why the M3 has a stiffer chassis than a normal E30. Down side is that the adhesive is degraded by UV light, Thats why bonded screens have the black band around the edges to protect the bond.

who ever bonds it make sure they do a decent job of the bond my dads windscreen broke and had a new one the bond looked aweful was all wavy etc and looked aweful

hi again guys. ordered it today will have it by wed or thursday. will fit myself used to fit windscreens a while back. so the old boss is going to put it through my car insurance as the m3 is my rallycar. also had a look in the book of windscreens while i was their and i think 99% sure the no. on it is 944 if anyone els needs one. will find out next week how much they do cost and let ye know.but i getting done for free free free

A M3 screen is £150 brand new from BMW (Green with top tint)
