Hi,
I have just purchased another 318is and i have noticed that when driving the speedo needle blips all the time, what could this problem be??
Any help would be great,
Many thanks
Ben.

Usually this is caused by the wires running from the sensor on the diff - they snap due to mechanical wear (being over the back axle) - easy fix is to replace the wires from the sensor on the diff to close to where the cable enters the body.

If you need an end plug (they are often nasty & corroded) you can use one from a front fog lamp. Any similar wiring is fine, too.

My needle's just started bouncing up and down like the proverbial brides nightie, so if you let us know how you didi it I'll give it a try also.

The speed now stopped working altogether and I notice one of the wires has broke off close to where they go into the sensor.
Has anybody fitted one of the repair kits I've heard about?
