hi lads,

I need to either renew or upgrade the front brakes on my e30 316i. (they are well corroded after 16yrs)

I was wondering should i just replace the disks and pads (and maybe even calipers) or is there a simple upgrade i can do? (even parts from a newer different car?)

Having chosen either of these options who are the best (cheapest) websites to go to?

Thanks in advance
dtm

Has your 316 got non vented discs ?
You could fit vented discs and calipers from 325 etc with upgraded pads.
This would be ok to stop a 316.

thanks ed325i for the reply

yes i hvae non vented disks
so new 325i disks and calipers are the way to go?
did all 325i disks and calipers come with the same set up? (for parts reasons)

and would this set up bolt directly onto my front hub assembly?

and where would be my best bet to buy new diskd and calipers?
would my master cylinder be upto pushing out the required amount of fluid?

cheers guys!!
keep up the good work

Yes it will just bolt on.
All the discs are the same and there are 2 makes of calipers.
I would get second hand calipers with new discs.
The master cylinder will be ok.
