My rear screen demister has started to get noisy, is there anyway to take it apart to refurb it or will I just have to replace it?

It seems to be behaving itself now, so ill leave replacing it for the time being thanks. It doesnt really make much odds if it works anyway, as by the time I get to work (only a few miles) it doesnt clear more than a fist size gap in the rear screen anyway.

If you look inbetween the rear seat and the hood compartment, there is a black plastic section, like a grill. The the centre of it there are some holes and its under that where the screen demister (blower) sits.

is this supposed to be heated? I have checked both of my cabrio's and the motor blows fine, but no heat. This may be why neither of them actually defrost the window. lol

So, are these supposed to be heated like a blow dryer? or do they just simply blow air???

the bottom seat pops out. grab the bottom edge of the bottom seat and lift up and out. Once that is out, there are two bolts you have to undo at the bottom of the top seat. There is one on each side. After the bolts are out, the seat comes right out.

the two bolts should look like this....

for some reason, I believe the cabrio seats have bolts closer to the center of the seat, but either way...there are only two.

Once the back seat is out..... you will find the rear window defroster...

on a side note...... can anyone answer my question..... is this supposed to have a heating element in it or just simply blow air?
