I had a lot of water in my passenger footwell and using my powers of deduction and some searching the zone i came up with the heater matrix....
I took the carpets up.
I didn't notice any water while i was driving but on the way to pick up the matrix i popped into the carwash and guess what,
water coming into the car footwell.
It turns out that the water had run down below the windscreen and run into a hole where the wing joins on and comes into the car below the fusebox,

hole filled/Ԛ£70 saved

hope this helps someone with a wet footwell.

Water from outside = water in footwell.
Heater matrix leak = coolant in footwell.
Fairly easy to tell the difference between the two.
It wouldn't have been the matrix, anyway. (I've never seen a leaking one). It would be the electric valve on the LH side of the heater box.

Aye I had both at the same time. Well the bottom of the passenger side A pillar rotted away and there was a plastic bag in the hole for months stopping the rain getting in. Not surprising that car went to scrappy after rotting away.

I've got rain water collecting in the drivers side footwell but the passenger side is bone dry, any idea's on where the leak might be?

Cheers :)
