Fuel problem

I have changed the fuel filler pipe today as it was corroded.
Put everything back together and managed to get about 2 miles to a garage to fill up and then it stopped - no fuel at fuel rail.

Got towed back home to investigate further, had fuel pump out and tried it outside the car hooked up to a battery and nothing - tried again and it started turning then again and nothing - is fuel pump knackered???

Any one experienced a similar thing???

Cheers guys

i had similar problems with my pump stopping but when i hooked it up directly to a battery it usually kicked it back to life.sounds like yours is fcuked and unfortunately theyre about Ԛ£150 from ECP.i put an escort cosworth one in mine as it was a direct swap and was much cheaper

Common failure - that's how they usually go.
It's a sticky point on the pump gears. If it happens to stop at that point when you switch off, it won't start the next time you power it.
Thump it to get it going, and it'll behave until the next time.
Ԛ£5-00 from a scrapyard is more my price range.
