2.7i Conversion, which route to take?.

I've currently got a 2.0i auto e30 cabby, and im planning on doing a 2.7i conversion.

But im not sure whether to use my current 2.0i head(with 2.5 inlet/throttle & cam), or a 2.5i head?, im keeping it auto as its going to be used as a cruiser.

I Was thinking of the 2.0i head as its an auto, and need power lower down in the rev range.

Now to complicate matters, my car has a cat, the only differences I can see is that it has a different throttle position sensor and a lambda probe, will this cause any difficulties in the wiring?. (BTW i'll be changing the exhaust system to non cat/non lambda).

All help and suggestions greatfully recieved

Dale.

TBH if you're using it as a cruiser I'd go the 525e bottom end/320i head rout as it's cheaper and give lots of low rev grunt.

The clutch switch is different purely because it's auto.

Bin the cat and the lambda probe, when the ECU can't see the lambda sensor it operates in open loop mode same as a non-cat car.

Easy conversion for you :D

ECU'll need a 2.7 zone chip in any case.
