Hi,
I need to find a replacement fuel tank for my BMW 323i 1985 (Baur Cabrio).
I have tried German Swedish & French but they say they do not stock for this year/model and to go to dealer, and guess that will prove expensive - but I was hoping to get cheaper second hand one.
If anyone knows a good place to source one can they please pass on the details? (I'm in London area - but can travel a bit if required).
Also my mechanic mate who is going to fit it says it needs a replacement metal type plate/guard thingy by filler neck which is completely rusted - not sure what it is called, (name/part number??).
Many thanks for looking.

Hi, Look in the for sale section there are some early e30 breaking. Have you tryed euro car parts ?

Euro parts didn't have petrol tank for that year/model either as it is quite rare.
My main problem is I'm not sure what other E30 tanks would be compatible with a 1985 323i, so if I look at classifieds would be great to know what other models will fit?
Cheers

Have you got any idea what the metal plate next to the filler neck that's rusted on mine might be called - and is it essential to replace it?
