E30 Zone

A guy i know just got an E30 however i am slightly puzzled.

Its a 318is shell n its a 4cylinder,however he says its got a 2.0 in it.

Are 2.0 not 6cylinder?

The only 2.0 4 pot is the m3 and 320is engine s14.
Have you a pic of the engine.
A 318is should have the 1.8 twin cam engine.

This is exactly what i thot! and thers not much chance its got a S14 engine in it cause its not fast.

Im thinkin its an 1800 16v engine, unless its bored out to a 2.0 ?

hartge did a 2.1 conversion.... but that should be fast!

a 318is engine looks like this:-

If it is a 16V, it could be a 1.9 liter M44 off an E36 318iS/318t/Z3.
If it is 8V, it could be a 2.0 liter M10 off an E21/E12.
It could be a 2.0 liter 6 cylinder.
What makes him say it is a 2 liter?

I really dont know, thats what im puzzled with i know what all the engines look lyk but iv never seen under the bonnet eh
Mayb the guy he got it from told him its a 2.0 but its only a 1.8 or mayb he knows its a 1.8 n hes just tellin every1 its a 2.0.

Anyway i just wantd to find out what u guys thot so i could get my facts straight before i found the 1.8 lump under the bonnet n told him its an 1800.

Can the 1800 be bored out to 2.0 ?

Its def 4cylinder n it aint S14 so ity has2 be an 1800 eh am i right or wrong?
