E30 Zone

I have a 'box with the part no 260.0.1346.91 cast into it.
Have searched through other posts on here and found it should have the following ratios:
1st 3.83
2nd 2.20
3rd 1.40
4th 1
5th 0.81

Did an 82ask on the part no and they also came back with the same ratios, but said it was an 'optional close-ratio 'box'!
I'm assuming from posts i've read that this is actually just a standard 325i box?

When looking for a sport 'box, what part number would be cast into it???
Just so i know what i'm looking for!!

if its a sport box it will be a different shape to the others

To my knoledge the CR box has a 1:1 fifth gear and a doglag shift pattern (pull the lever for first gear instead of push).

the sport box as 325 is not dogleg its standard gate and i wasnt aware the sport box was different to the standard one physically....ive got one stood ill check.

iirc 2 and 3rd are the only difference?

I've read up on other posts and know that 1st, 2nd & 3rd are different ratios - normal sport box isn't dogleg.

Never heard anyone mention about the physical shape/dimensions of the box though - thought they just had different internals!! Would be interested to know!!

If you've got a sport 'box there, could you let me know what numbers to look out for on 'em??

I'm still assuming then that the box i've got here (part no 260.0.1346.91) is just a standard 325 'box (non sport).

Anyone know how to contact ZF Transmisions for this sort of info?

I picked up a clsoe ratio sports gear box for a BMW technician and i had to look for the letters TNN along with a few numbers that are stamped in to the bellhousing where it meets the rear of the engine, they were along the flat edge of the box across the bottom i think from memory.

I have just broken an early sport I will check part numbers for you when time as still have to split engine and box..chers

Part number off this early sport box assuming its original is 260.0.01346.90 if that helps

Oooohh, wonder what the 1 on the end of mine (instead of the 0) means!!

i got less,s old 325i ssport box and it dont have tnn,checked them???wonder where this info comes from?
