Screw one end into the lump (ABS unit?), and shape the pipe to fit as you move back the car.
Bit late now, but it's far easier to make your own pipes, using cunnifer alloy pipe, (never rusts), and to cut and join the pipe under the car, as the front part never rusts.

the "lump" is probably the rear brake pressure proportioning valve if its about the size of a cotton reel and its under the master cylinder.

Fit braided pipes,no need to drop anything then.

Available for Ԛ£50,and can be fitted in half hour, just cable tie them to the old brake pipes, this is what I did on my previous E30,MOT man happy.
I could'nt face all that work to get to those rear nuts under the axle/tank area.

so then the pipes are just pushed under the tank dont they need to be fixed anywhere?

Construction and use regs require brake pipes to be fixed at a max of a certain distance. 300mm IIRC., but probably wrong.

I wasn't sure what the distance was so I put cables ties every six inches.

I'll look at my car tomorrow and give you a better description of how i did, with regards to the fuel tank etc.

Sorry for the late reply.I really cant remember where i got mine,it was just someone plucked out the yellow pages when I lived in a different area to where I do now..
I had to measure the front to back pipe (meaning from the master cylinder to the "T" piece ate the back, then the two pipes running down the rear subframes to the calipers.
They then made them to size with all the fittings, and all i had to do was bolt it to the car,all this for just under fifty quid.
Sorry I cant point you in the right direction as to where to get them though.

Try these guys, they have "3 line" kits for Ԛ£46

When you get on to their site from this link click on to "Flexible Hoses(rubber/Braided)" on the left of the page.
