MY 25 TOURING, wouldn't start at the petrol station, so i checked fuel, ok. Checked the spark to the dizzy cap, ok. Checked all the relays,ok. I have a spark at the end of the coil lead (end that goes into the dizzy cap) but i have no spark out of the end of the plug leads, swapped all the parts off mine onto my bro's and they work fine. So why no spark out of the plug leads, is it the ECU or????????? :x

If you've got anouther E30 to try to swap parts on try swapping the crank postion sensor and the ECU.

Check all the electrical/sensor plugs are on ok and have not corroded or got contaminated with oil or water.

Just a few ideas for you to check, nothing deffinate

If the spark's getting that far, would it not just be a buggered rotor arm or dizzy cap?

The rotor arm and dizzy cap are new. I have swapped all the parts over onto my bro's bm and they work fine on his.

Fitted the new ecu, now the revs are hunting up and down between 0-1100, up down up down and stalls when coming to a stop when driving or nearly stalling is this the MAF?? I'm really getting pi***d off now. It never did it before the ECU packed up just ran a bit rough, then the ECU died replaced that and now the rev hunting  :x

when you fit a new ecu it needs to set itself to your engine,if its driveable (it should be,may stall) take it for a drive for a while, and hit the limiter, not for long, just hit it for a sec and the ecu will set itself properly then, this is advice i was given and it seemed to work!

The ECU is a used one, does it make any difference or not?

Shoudln't make any difference mate, they kind of reset when they lose power from the battery, then go through a gradual learning sequence when back in use. It will settle down eventually - mine took a day or two when I chipped it.
