316i top end rattle

have bought 316i m40 engine,it has a tapping from rocker top just sounds like one tappet needs adjusting ,if it was camshaft would there be more than one noise thanks 
iirc, m40 engines have hydraulic tappets-you cant adjust them!
Generally, from what i can remember on this site, the m40 suffers from poor oil feed to the tappets sometimes-this leads to the camshaft wearing.
This manifests itself as a tapping (generally from the end furthest from the oil feed!)
