Lookin for a little advice please folks. Just installed a new power antenna but I'm not sure which wire to connect to the head unit to get it working. :?

Doesn't look too pretty behind the head unit... here's a pic.

Anyone know why the red and green wires are connected like that? and what the yellow and red/black ones are for?

Also, at present the head unit doesn't remember what track was last being played. When I turn the engine off and back on it starts back at track 1 and when yer half way through an hour long mix that's really annoying :-x

Has your head unit got an ISO connector? If so, it will be easy to identify which wire is which, you can get diagrams off the internet easy enough. As for the unit not remembering, sounds like the permenant 12v is not connected to the unit, just the 12v ignition switched supply is there. On my iS, there was a clarion tape deck fitted when I bought the car and it would not remember the pre-set stations. When I took it out, both the permenant 12v and ignition 12v wires from the back of the unit were connected together to the ignition 12v supply in the car. I don't know why this was, as there is a permenant 12v supply in the car loom to the stereo, but it wasn't used.

That connection of the red and green wires looks like someone just twisted the wires together and stuck a bit a insulating tape around them. This is not good, wires should always be crimped or soldered.

the reason why your cd doesnt hold memory is beacaue you may not have connected the accessory wire (yellow one)

thanks for the replies. I got the antenna working. it was the red/black cable to the right which needed connected.
sounds like the permenant 12v is not connected to the unit
it looks like two wires from the head unit are connected to the ignition switch cable, so I can sort that now too. thanks

the red and green cables connected together should obviously not be left like that, and i will sort it, but does anyone know what they actually are?
