im looking to a big european road trip at the end of june.
which us great but for one thing...... my auto box.
when it gets warm its a bit whiny and I can feel it starting to slip when under heavy load.
I have changed the fluid and filter but its still dodgy what else can i do?
Anyone have idea of the liekly cost of an overhauk and replacing any warn out parts?

Far more than the cost of fitting a good replacement one, or, doing the job properly, fitting a manual box etc.

There's a whole host of bits needed besides the box itself.

out of interest are the bits you need to change for the conversion prop shaft and diff + selector shaft, or is there more to it than that

You'll find a clutch pedal usefull on a manual for a start.
There's other things like the fluid reevoir and its bracket, and the reverse light switch loom, mounting for the rear end of the gearlever, etc.
