E30 Zone

Well, another question for your guru's.

I've just done the oil pressure switch - no light now!
I've also just done the tensioner, major rattle gone.

Now I've got another rattle which I appear to only get on a trailing throttle, it sounds like something light and metallic vibrating, and ideas?

Also I think that one of my exhaust baffles has gone, the symptoms are noise like theres a hole in the exhaust, only there's no hole to be found, I can't seem to pinpoint it, is this a common problem??

i had a similar thing for me it was the heat shield that sits above the back box on the exhaust and between the boot floor it is held on by 4 studs and plastic nuts the studs rust as they are very thin and the nuts fall off one after the other and the heat shield begins to drop down and come into contact with the exhaust and causes the rattle on deceleration etc i managed to use a couple of self tapping bolts to fix mine but when the exhaust is off next i will replace it ...it is about a tenner at the dealers ...hope this helps
